This award will be made to a business that has demonstrated originality of innovation in products, services, or practices. This award will be made to an SME* that has demonstrated a real understanding of its target market, showing impressive growth, or growth potential, and sustainability in terms of one or more of the following: job creation; turnover and/or impact on the region.
*Small or Medium sized Enterprise, i.e. maximum 249 employees and turnover not exceeding EUR 50million.

This award will be made to someone under the age of 30 whose contribution has made a real and positive impact on the business in which they are employed. Nominations should be made by the business on behalf of the employee they would like to put forward. Nominees can be at any stage in their career or training, and may be working in any role within the business, including apprentices.

This category is open to a business, charity or organisation of any size, with the award being made to those that can demonstrate exceptional and deliverable commitment to addressing the challenge of the zero emissions, net zero and the green energy agenda within the maritime industry. 

The award will recognise excellence and achievement in delivering a positive impact at a project or organisational level. There should be specific references and documented evidence of showing thought leadership and commitment to breaking new ground and leading the way with good practice.

This award will be made to a micro-sized business that has demonstrated real understanding of its target market, showing growth potential and sustainability in terms of turnover and/or impact on the sector. A micro business is defined as employing fewer than ten employees and has a turnover or balance sheet total of less than €2 million. (European Commission definition).
