Regional cluster organisation, Mersey Maritime is delighted to announce new partners, Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) to their robust industry membership base.
Mersey Maritime was conceived twenty years ago to create an ecosystem, championing and supporting one of the most diverse maritime regions in the UK. Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) own maritime history spans back as far as 1892 when it opened England’s first nautical college, today LJMU still provides support and teachings required to enter shore-based roles in marine surveying, maritime operations, port or ship management, consultancy, research, and maritime education. LJMU are also at the fore of maritime innovation and research into decarbonisation and digitisation.
Working in partnership, Mersey Maritime and LJMU aim to further bridge the gap between industry, academia, and education – addressing the challenges of industry with innovation and R&D whilst also enhancing the education of the next generation of maritime professionals with direct industry and business support.
Chief Executive Officer at Mersey Maritime, Chris Shirling Rooke commented: “At Mersey Maritime, our members are at the heart of everything we do.
