Mersey Maritime is delighted to be sponsoring Beech Group Managing Director, Chris Wainwright, on his 50-hour cycle in aid of the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation.
On the 11th of February, Chris will be starting his 50-hour cycle from Edinburgh with three friends in a relay to try and reach Cardiff in time for the Six Nations match between Wales and Scotland in aid of the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation.
Chris Shirling-Rooke, Chief Executive Officer at Mersey Maritime commented, “We are delighted to be sponsoring Chris on his challenge to raise funds for such an incredible charity. Best of luck to Chris and friends from the whole Mersey Maritime family.”
The Foundation is committed to helping improve the lives of those affected by Motor Neuron Disease and was set up by Doddie Weir OBE, one of rugby’s most recognisable personalities. In June 2017, the Scot revealed he was suffering from Motor Neuron Disease. From the outset, Doddie has been driven to help fellow sufferers and seek ways to further research into this, yet incurable disease.
To support Chris on his journey you can do so by downloading the Doddie Aid league app via your Appstore and select the district ‘Birkenhead Park Football Club’ – thank you!
