Competition law affects all businesses, large and small. There are heavy penalties for businesses which breach competition laws, including substantial fines. Individuals involved in a breach can be imprisoned for up to five years, fined and disqualified from being directors.
This training session has been designed by competition law specialist Laurence Pritchard – a consultant solicitor at Liverpool-based business lawyers O’Connors – specifically for Mersey Maritime members to explain in practical terms what competition law is and how you may encounter it in your day jobs.
The session will look at real life examples of how breaches may unintentionally occur, what to do in the event of a breach and what steps to take to ensure compliance going forward. There will be time for questions at the end of the session.
