Taking place during the Labour Party Conference, Mersey Maritime will bring together industry leaders, stakeholders and key voices from across the Liverpool City Region to explore the future of maritime and its importance to the region’s economy, communities and long-term growth.
Held in Rathbone Hall at the Port of Liverpool Building on Monday 28 September, the event sponsored by Bibby Marine & Stena Line will combine networking with a programme of presentations, speeches and a panel discussion, providing an opportunity to hear from leading voices across the maritime sector.
The event will explore the key priorities shaping the future of maritime, aligned with Mersey Maritime’s three strategic pillars: decarbonisation, innovation and people.
From the imperative of industry decarbonisation and the adoption of new technologies, to developing the skills, talent and workforce needed for the future, these priorities are central to ensuring the sector continues to grow and thrive.
The Liverpool City Region is home to a significant maritime ecosystem, with the wider North West maritime sector generating £9.03 billion in business turnover and supporting more than 47,000 jobs. The event will highlight the sector’s contribution to the region and consider the opportunities ahead, as well as the collaboration and investment needed to secure its future.
Bringing together representatives from industry, government and the wider maritime community, the event will provide a platform to share insight, highlight key priorities and consider how the Liverpool City Region can continue to position itself at the forefront of maritime transformation.
