From the (RRS) Sir David Attenborough to delivering block build units for the Aircraft Carrier Alliance and the Astute Class submarines, Cammell Laird knows what it takes to deliver vessels of vital national importance.
Today Cammell Laird is delivering critical units of Dreadnought submarines on behalf of BAE. The business is also delivering units for ship 4, HMS Birmingham, the brand new Type 26 anti-submarine warfare vessels.
Cammell Laird’s ship repair division continues to provide vital support to the commercial and defence maritime communities.
Cammell Laird’s commercial arm goes from strength to strength proving ship repair support to ferries, cruise ships, offshore support vessels and tugs.
In the last six months alone, Cammell Laird has welcomed four Royal Fleet Auxiliary vessels to its facility. The UK’s first Multi-Role Ocean Surveillance ship has undergone maintenance and refitting at Cammell Laird.
Cammell Laird’s commitment to training the next generation of engineers remains a key focus of the business and today Cammell Laird is proud to have 171 apprentices in training at the facility.
